GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan — Teresa Robinson said it was about seven and a half years ago when she was left paralyzed in her legs after she was the victim of a drive-by shooting that killed her step-grandson and almost claimed the life of her daughter.
“If I didn’t stand up, it’d probably have killed my daughter when he was shooting, because I stood up to push her down, you know, to get down,” Robinson said. “And that’s when I got shot.”
All the while, she said her mother is now battling lung cancer.
“She wasn’t just my mom,” Robinson said. “My mom was my best friend.”
