The AHA CPR Instructor Course certifies the participant upon completion to teach either BLS Provider or Heartsaver CPR/AED and First Aid courses. This class teaches new instructors about planning and course preparation, how to direct a CPR and First Aid class, practical skills testing, conducting written exams, and keeping your instructor status current. An interested student should be well versed in performing CPR and hold a current BLS Provider or Heartsaver CPR/AED card.
The other portion of the course is student teaching on a subsequent date. As a student instructor, you will be monitored during the first class you teach and receive feedback on classroom management. This must be completed within six months of taking the instructor course. Student teaching can be done through Life EMS at one of our many pre-arranged CPR courses. An off-site student teaching evaluation will accrue the instructor’s travel and time costs.
The cost includes an AHA Instructor Manual and a student workbook. If you need more information on which course options are the best fit for you, please call (616) 356-5726 or email email@example.com.
